What is a Foyer?
Foyers provide a safe place for young people to live,
learn and make the transition to independent adulthood.
Foyers offer a something for something deal for young
people between the ages of 16-25 who are in housing need
with personal development and other services that enable
young people to reconnect with learning, increase their
employability, improve their health and wellbeing and
develop their leadership potential.Want to learn more - why not visit the The Foyer Federation site using the link.
Opportunities
In exchange for services uniquely tailored to their needs,
young people who live in a foyer are expected to actively
engage in their own development and make a positive contribution
to their local community. The foyer offers young people a range
of opportunities to overcome barriers and to achieve their goals and aspirations.
There are 120 foyers across the UK, including three in Cumbria
– South Lakes Foyer in Kendal, Eden Rural Foyer in Penrith
and Whitehaven Foyer.
